Great weekend canal boating

Well I had a great weekend doing canal boat things. Saturday I went to my first Crick Boat show. I had the best day weather wise and if you are thinking about boating it well worth a visit. Stopped by Heritage stoves to ask about my chimney and I managed to buy a chrome tiller arm. I also seem to have volunteered to help on the RBOA stand next year.
Sunday and Monday I pressed on with work inside. I decided that the wall beside the toilet needed to match the other bathroom walls, so down it came and a frame was made to match the other side. It makes the walls square and hopefully easier to hang the door. I have finished the frame for the sink which will also give me a cupboard underneath albeit with a small door and the lighting pelmet is finished as well, so all I need is some more moisture resistant MDF to finish lining the walls and the tiles and I will have a bathroom!

So it Friday evening and I am enjoying Planet Rock, a Greene King IPA whilst sitting on the front deck of Rhyddid. Does it get better?

Update at last

I am very aware that it has been a long time since I have posted an update on the progress on Rhyddid. I was so focused on moving onto Rhyddid at Easter that I had no plan for what came next, so nothing did! I think some of the reason is that the planning for Rhyddid has been going on for so long and is so important to my future that there was a great deal of relief on my part that everything was as good as it could be, I just sat back and enjoyed it. Well that is over and I am getting on with jobs again. The lighting pelmet is in place down the starboard side, that's the right and So as can be seen in the last lot of pictures I have painted the ceiling in the kitchen, dining area and bedroom. I have also fitted a blind in the bedroom, a Lindmon from Ikea. I am very pleased with idea to keep the base of the blind back against the side of the boat, simple but effective.
