Boat update 2

I have added more pictues of the boat. It really is starting to look like a boat. Off to the boat show on Friday, but more of that later in the week. I have found an interesting insulation product called Thermoboat. It is based on technology from the space shuttle! I will keep you posted if I use it. I have chosen my engine and that is due to be fitted in early March and I am fairly certain on my painters. So that is the boat news so far.

More pictures

I have added some more pictures showing the sides. The straight sides are in place and now need welding completely as at present they are just tacked. Nothing much will change over the nest week or so until it's all welded up.

Boat update

Just had a phone call from Steve. All the sides are up on the boat!! Now it is just a case of welding it all together. I'll try and get over to see it Sunday and get some pictures.

I've got sides!

Well you can see from the new pictures that the boat has got some sides! They finally arrived from the folding company and Steve has been able to get on. We are about 10 days behind, but Steve says we an make up, weather permitting. I am off to the Aga shop some time to see about putting an Aga on the boat!

Boat update

Well it is making slow progress. The sides should be arriving today after Corus steel folded the gunnel wrong! So at present I have a 60foot surf board, quite useful having seen the height and flow of the Oxford canal on Saturday. So Steve, the builder, reckons he is now 10 days behind, but has another build to start in March so is still hoping to finish by the end of February! We will see.

Boat news!!

Well the big news is I have a base plate down! There are photo's in the gallery of various piles of steel and the first weld! Now all I need is the sides to arrive which are currently in Banbury but they are due to arrive today or tomorrow. I am planning another visit in a couple of weeks so hopefully some more pictures then.
